چکیده

To challenge the limited understanding of the thenyoung quantum theory, Einstein, Podolsky, and Rosen constructed, in 1935, their EPR Gedankenexperiment, in which they introduced entangled states that exhibit strange correlations over macroscopic distances [1]. By now we have learned that entangled states are an element of physical reality. They lie at the heart of quantum physics and can, in fact, be used as a powerful resource in emerging quantum technologies. Yet we find out in amazement that we have still not completely captured the full scope of the fascinating nature of entanglement. Three different international groups have now reported in Physical Review Letters[2–4] experiments of distributing entanglement between two distant parties by sending a nonentangled carrier. These arrangements instead place the carrier in a “cheaper,” so-called separable state, which exhibit correlations that can be established remotely between separated parties.

Optimal dense coding with arbitrary pure entangled states

Dense coding [? ] is a communication protocol which, making use of entanglement shared in prior between the sender (Alice) and the receiver (Bob), can improve the classical capacity of a noiseless quantum channel. In the original protocol proposed by Bennett and Wiesner in Ref.[? ], with the assistance of a maximally entangled qubit pair, Alice can send faithfully 2 bits of classical informatio...

Experimental entanglement distribution by separable states.

Distribution of entanglement between macroscopically separated parties is crucial for future quantum information networks. Surprisingly, it has been theoretically shown that two distant systems can be entangled by sending a third system that is not entangled with either of them. Here, we experimentally distribute entanglement and successfully prove that our transmitted light beam is indeed not ...

Entanglement Dynamics in Quantum Information Theory

This thesis contributes to the theory of entanglement dynamics, that is, the behaviour of entanglement in systems that are evolving with time. Progressively more complex multipartite systems are considered, starting with low-dimensional tripartite systems, whose entanglement dynamics can nonetheless display surprising properties, progressing through larger networks of interacting particles, and...

Multiparty secret sharing of quantum information based on entanglement swapping

A protocol of multiparty secret sharing of quantum information based on entanglement swapping is analyzed. In this protocol, Bell states are needed in order to realize the quantum information secret sharing and it is convenient to realize the quantum secret sharing among the members of any subset of users.  2004 Elsevier B.V. One-shot Multiparty State Merging

We present a protocol for performing state merging when multiple parties share a single copy of a mixed state, and analyze the entanglement cost in terms of minand maxentropies. Our protocol allows for interpolation between corner points of the rate region without the need for time-sharing, a primitive which is not available in the one-shot setting. We also compare our protocol to the more naiv...
